Wow. What a wonderful evening we had last night. We started with Prayer and a good meal served by Brother Ken Stewart and myself. Brother Pete Williams and Ms. Lucy brought us a "Carrot Cake" and such that went fast. We had about 28 Brethren in attendance. After the meal, we opened lodge and got underway. We conducted two (2) Master Mason Degrees. The newly made MMs were very excited about the evening and enjoyed every minute of their degree. We had Brethren from numerous lodges, near and far, that made this degree night absolutely unforgetable. Outstanding work and simply warm, hearty fellowship. Thank you all that participated in any part of this evening. Fraternally, Brother Roy Stanford, WM

We hosted our Christmas Party this past Saturday. I would like to thank Mrs. Lucy B. Williams, Ms. Mary Myers, and Brother Pete Williams for doing an outstanding job decorating our hall. Kudos to Brother Will Benson and Brother Brian Lucas for conducting the Christmas Party. It was an exceptional night out with the families. We had about a total of 55 in attendance. It was cool and wet; thus, hindering some from making it out that night. Again, many thanks to those that made this happen. Fraternally, Brother Roy E. Stanford, WM

Brethren, our "Yard Sale" has been postponed until further notice. Many thanks to those that are working on getting this together. We expect to have the Yard Sale in the spring time. Our Scholarship Fund is looking good thanks to you all. We expect to have two MM Degrees coming up in the very near future; as soon as logistics can be worked out. The Lodge Christmas Party is at 6:30 PM on December 12th. Each year we adopt a family for Christmas, with this year being Brother Stone's family. We truly miss Brother Stone. He left a great legacy. Remember that PM Brother Laymon Sticklin conducts the Wednesday Night Practices. He has continued to do an outstanding job on keeping us straight. Goodness knows that he has his hands full.......haha. Take care. Brother Roy E. Stanford, WM.

Pleasant Grove Lodge No. 909 had a busy schedule since our last meeting. We participated in Brother Nick Smelley's MM Degree at Cold Water Lodge No. 148, conferred a MM Degree on Brother TJ Johnson, and conferred a FC Degree on Brother Dustin Williams. It is great seeing these Brothers advancing in a very efficient manner, bringing pride on the organization. It appears that we will not meet on Monday, September 7th due to the Labor Day holiday. We will meet again on our regular meeting night on Monday, September 14th. Brethren, always remember our School Of Instruction. Brother Laymon is doing an excellent job keeping the Brethren straight on how the work should be properly conducted. God Bless our troops, you and your families........Roy E. Stanford, WM

Many thanks to all the Brethren for coming out last evening and participating in the discussions. Also, thanks to Brothers Will Benson and Brian Lucas for providing us a great meal and cleaning up afterwards.

The Amaranths Organization has decided to no longer meet at Pleasant Grove Lodge No. 909. We wish them well in their endeavors. The Rainbow Girls are a very active group at Pleasant Grove Lodge. They have some wonderful leadership in Ms. Gail Boyd and Ms. Kathy Armstrong. Pleasant Grove Lodge is a very active Lodge and invites all Regular Masons to join us at our meetings and School of Instruction. We have some wonderful leadership within the Lodge. Brothers Laymon Stricklin PM, Buddy Ganus PM, Richard Grubbs PM, and more. Additionally, we have Brother Jock Whately, PM from Fairfield Lodge No. 749, assisting us with our work on a regular basis. Always great to see all the Brethren coming out.

We had a wonderful meeting last evening. We conducted a lot of business and discussed many projects coming before us this year. The highlight of the evening were the Lodge awards that were presented to Brothers David Heaton, Mike Stanford, John Bowlin, Pete Williams, Ken Stewart, and Terrell Feltman. The Lodge presented Past Master Brother Haskell Lackey, Friendship Lodge No. 83 and Fairfield Lodge No. 749, an Appreciation Award for Brother Lackey's overall selfless acts of assistance to Masonry, no matter where the calling. Brother Lackey was accompanied by Brother Hale, who is the Senior Deacon for Friendship Lodge No. 83. Keep our soldiers and their families in your prayers. God Bless.......

The first regular meeting for the 2009 - 2010 year was held last evening. The new officers were in their stations and places. The first order of business was the initiation of Brother Jerimiah O'Rourke. Brother O'Rourke was very pleased to receive the first degree in Masonry. Committees are being assigned and many wonderful things are continuing to happen at Pleasant Grove Lodge. We intend to implement many new things this year, while we continue to review last year and continue and/or complete things left on our "To-Do" list. Past Master Buddy Ganus's legacy has left us big shoes to fill and challenges each of us to continue building Masonry by thinking outside the box and making things happen. Idle is not a spoken word in Pleasant Grove Lodge No. 909. We look forward to serving on and assisting the many committees. One noble committee is the Committee on Patriotism. Brother David Heaton, U.S. Army, is chairing this committee. He has many ideas that the Lodge will actively engage. Remember those that are serving in our Armed Services and their families. They need our love and prayers. Respectfully written, Brother Roy E. Stanford, WM

We would love to thank all the members and their families who attended our first Family Night of the year. It was a wonderful success, with at last count 68 people in attendance. We would also like to extend congratulations to those who received the honors of the evening, Ms. Layne Ray Sellers, who received this years scholarship, and Brother Laymon Stricklin who received a Lodge Bible in recognition of his hard work and devotion to Masonry. We would also like to thank Brother "Judge" Smallwood for providing us with our entertainment for the evening by bringing his Granddaughter who blessed us with her skills singing and playing the guitar. It was a wonderful night, and we all look forward to our next gathering.
( A special thanks to Brother Will Benson for providing the wonderful food and his presentation of the Bible)

Do not forget to get the word out to all of our Brethren concerning March 30th being our First Family Night of 2009. This will be a great opportunity for all our members and their families to get to know one another. We will post more details as to the plans for this night in the near future. Remember without each and ever Brother, Masonry fails to exist as The Greatest Fraternal Organization the World has ever known. Come out and enjoy this night of food, fun and fellowship.
